Bersempena Aidil Fitri yang kunjung tiba ini, saya, ahli keluarga dan kakitangan pejabat DUN Seri Andalas ingin mengucapkan Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidil Fitri kepada para muslimin dan muslimat di DUN Seri Andalas khususnya dan di seluruh negara. Aidil Fitri seperti perayaan-perayaan lain di negara ini, diraikan bersama-sama oleh semua rakyat Malaysia tanpa mengira kaum, agama dan latarbelakang. Kita sangat bertuah dapat meraikan kesemua perayaan ini bersama-sama sebagai satu bangsa Malaysia.

Sejak akhir-akhir ini berbagai-bagai insiden yang mencetuskan salah faham diantara kaum dan agama berlaku yang sedikit sebanyak merosakkan perpaduan diantara kaum sejak negara kita mencapai kemerdekaan. Disini saya menyeru supaya kita saling hormat-menghormati antara satu sama lain, tangani perbezaan pendapat secara berhemah dan bijaksana. Generasi-generasi sebelum ini dari semua kaum telah bersusah payah untuk mewujudkan suasana harmoni yang kita nikmati selama ini. Ayuh, mari kita teruskan usaha tersebut demi negara yang kita cintai ini. Justeru, di musim perayaan ini, ambillah peluang untuk teruskan amalan kunjung-mengunjungi antara satu sama lain dan bermaaf-maafan.

Kepada mereka yang pulang ke kampung, berhati-hatilah dijalan raya, semoga selamat sampai ke destinasi yang dituju. Saya juga ingin mengambil kesempatan ini untuk mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua terutamanya rakyat di DUN Seri Andalas atas sokongan dan kerjasama yang diberikan selama ini. Saya juga ingin memohon maaf atas sebarang kekurangan yang ada dan akan terus berusaha demi aspirasi rakyat di DUN Seri Andalas.

Press Release: Govt must recognise Anwar’s status as a prisoner of conscience & place him under House Arrest

Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has completed 155 days of imprisonment at the Sg Buloh prison.

His conviction and jailing has been criticised by governments, respected organisations and prominent individuals throughout the world.

Millions of ordinary Malaysians share the concerns of the international community on the jailing of Anwar.

The highly respected global organisation Amnesty International has officially declared Anwar a Prisoner of Conscience.

The government must now recognise Anwar’s status as a prisoner of conscience, and treat him as such.

Malaysia, as a member of the UN Security Council and a trading nation, cannot afford to ignore the opinion of the internationally community. Neither can it, as a democratic nation, ignore the concerns of ordinary Malaysians for Anwar.

In view of the preceding, we have on the instructions of Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail on 14th July 2015 formally written to the Home Minister and D-G of Prisons asking that Anwar be treated as a Prisoner of Conscience. Accordingly, we have asked that Anwar be removed from Sg Buloh prison, and placed under house arrest as befitting a prisoner of conscience. His house arrest will be at his usual place of residence at Bukit Segambut, Kuala Lumpur.

We have made this request in accordance with legal requirements, pursuant to section 43 of the Prisons Act 1995.

Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed the following through his lawyers:

"For the first time in our history, a sitting Prime Minister is under investigation for the misappropriation of funds.

This is happening at the same time as the people face rising prices, the burdensome GST and the worst economic uncertainty since the 1997 Asian financial crisis.

At the same time, the Sedition Act and a range of other repressive laws remain in place in order to silence the people.

From behind these prison walls, I feel a great concern and worry for my country.

The BN must take full responsibility for the current state of affairs. Their corruption, abuse of power, arrogance and appallingly poor governance has brought Malaysia to this state. The utter collapse of the Greece economy is a warning of what can yet happen to our beloved country.

Removing Dato’ Sri Najib as prime minister is not enough for the Rakyat.

We have gone through the futile process of changing leaders, but leaving the corrupt and obsolete system intact. We do not want piecemeal solutions but a serious commitment to reform and the end of corruption.

A Mahathir-led removal of Najib, without real reform, will only satisfy some cronies; it will do nothing to bring about real change for the people.

There must be comprehensive change in the governance and administration of the country.

In the cities, towns and kampungs, the Rakyat want Change and Reform!

On behalf of my fellow Malaysians, I call for these immediate steps:

1) Reform of key institutions such as the MACC, the Attorney General’s office, the Judiciary and the Police force which have failed to stem the tide of corruption and abuse of power;

2) Reform of the electoral system as called for by Bersih 2.0;

3) The repeal of the Sedition Act and all repressive laws which pervert democracy and stifle the voice of the Rakyat;

Now is the moment for the Rakyat, united and strong, to rise up to demand change and accountability from the Barisan Nasional!"

Sempena Bulan Ramadan yang mulia, pejabat YB Dato` Haji Abdul Malik Kassim buat julung kalinya mengadakan program "Singgah Sahur Bersama Gelandangan", di sekitar Masjid Kapitan Keling. Program ini juga turut di sertai oleh penuntut UA (universiti Awam), dengan adanya program sebegini dapatlah memupuk sifat bersedekah dikalangan masyarakat dan ia juga memberi sinar kepada gelandangan dalam menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri yang bakal tiba.

Seramai 73 orang terdiri daripada anggota PKR, DAP, PSM, Badan-badan Bukan Kerajaan dan penduduk dalam kawasan Klang telah hadir untuk membuat laporan polis

Mengedar Bubur Lambuk Di Sekitar DUN Seri Andalas Sempena Ramadhan

Klang, 4 Julai 2015 - YB Dr. Xavier Jayakumar bersama sukarelawan mengedar bubur lambuk di sekitar DUN Seri Andalas sempena Ramadhan. Sebanyak 3,000 lebih bekas bubur lambuk telah diedarkan kepada orang ramai.

Program adalah anjuran bersama Pejabat ADUN Seri Andalas bersama Angkatan Muda Keadilan Kota Raja. Turut hadir mengedar bubur lambuk adalah ketua-ketua kampung, ahli-ahli majlis dan para pemimpin setempat.

Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim was brought to Hospital Kuala Lumpur on the afternoon of 7th July to receive intensive physiotherapy treatment for his shoulder pains, monitoring of his blood pressure levels and CT scans of his kidneys.

DSAI thanked the specialist doctors and other hospital staff for their assistance and treatment. On the 12th July 7:45am he was transferred back to the Sungai Buloh prison.

Seperti yang dilakukan setiap tahun apabila tiba bulan Ramadan Al Mubarak YB Dato` Haji abdul Malik akan melakukan lawatan Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang, Lawatan ini dilakukan pada 3 Julai 2015 (Jumaat). Lawatan ini adalah untuk mengeratkan lagi hubungan di antara kerajaan Negeri dengan kaki tangan Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang di samping dapat memupuk budaya bersedekah di kalangan masyarakat bersempena bulan Ramadan Al Mubarak yang mulia ini. Ianya juga dapat memberi sedikit sinar keceriaan kepada pesakit-pesakit yang menerima rawatan di Hospital tersebut dengan adanya program lawatan sebegini.

Pada 14 Jun 2015 yang lalu, YB Dr. Xavier Jayakumar ADUN Seri Andalas telah menyampaikan sumbangan bulan Ramadhan di Program Menyambut Ramadhan Al-Mubarak 1436H yg diadakan di Masjid Al-Muhsinin Kg Sg Kandis. Majlis telah diadakan selepas solat Isyak, jam 9 malam.

Sebanyak 41 buah surau di dalam DUN Seri Andalas menerima sumbangan untuk aktiviti-aktiviti sepanjang Ramadhan.

Turut hadir adalah YB Dr. Siti Mariah Mahmud, Ahli Parlimen Kota Raja, Ketua Kampung Kg Sg Kandis, Ketua Kampung Kg Teluk Menegon, Tuan Hj Ehsan, Nazir Masjid Al-Muhsinin Kg Sg Kandis, Ustaz Nasir, Nazir Masjid Al- Barakah, Ahli Majlis MBSA Zon 15 Sdra Manaf Yusuff.

Penyelaras mengucapkan setinggi penghargaan kepada semua yang terlibat dalam menjayakan program ini dan mengucapkan Selamat Menjalani Ibadah Puasa.

Anwar gets much needed treatment at HKL

Jailed PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a much needed medical treatment.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said Anwar’s family has been informed on the matter.

“We were made to understand that Anwar will be placed at a separate ward at HKL for a few days.

“He will be treated with intensive physiotherapy for his shoulder, his blood pressure monitored and they will conduct a CT Scan for his kidney,” he said in a statement today.

Fahmi added that Anwar’s wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (photo) was allowed to visit the former deputy premier.

This comes after the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) of MPs from across the globe has called for Anwar to be given the necessary medical treatment.

Last week Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said he was informed on Anwar’s condition and has ordered the relevant parties to act on it.

Anwar is now at Sungai Buloh prison after he was found guilty of sodomy and sentenced to five years in jail in February.

World MPs want proper medical care for Anwar

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) of MPs from across the globe has called for jailed former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to be given the necessary medical treatment.

“Although the three-day IPU mission… acknowledged efforts in addressing Anwar's health problems, it urged authorities to allow follow-up care requested by doctors in early June after he underwent hospital treatment,” the union said in a statement.

IPU’s three-day mission, which included a visit to Anwar in prison, concluded on Wednesday.

The call comes amid concerns about a tumour in Anwar’s kidney.

A day before the IPU concluded its mission, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak also noted Anwar’s condition, urging the relevant authorities to ensure he receives proper medical attention.

“I take note of Anwar’s health and want the relevant authorities to ensure he receives the necessary treatment,” Najib tweeted on Tuesday.

‘Anwar isolated’

The IPU also expressed concern that Anwar is not allowed contact with other prisoners.

In addition, they urged that other charges against other MPs over Anwar’s jailing to be dropped.

“The three-member delegation from IPU's committee on the human rights of parliamentarians also call for the dismissal of charges and investigations against eight opposition MPs, including Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar.

“Some of the MPs had taken part in demonstrations, while Nurul Izzah had been briefly arrested after criticising the judiciary during a speech in Parliament,” it said.

It added the IPU delegation is urging Malaysian authorities to ratify and implement all key international human rights treaties.

It will present a full report on the mission to IPU members in October.

Anwar Urges Muslim Democrats to Stay United

PETALING JAYA, July 3, 2015:

Rahimah Abdulrahim, the executive director of the Indonesian Habibie Centre, urged all Muslims around the world to stay united as urged by jailed Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a message.

According to Rahimah, although Anwar was currently in prison, he still tried to provide his input on current issues concerning Muslims.

"Although behind bars, he did send a message through other people for us.

"He told us to keep strengthening Muslim democrats," she said during a preparatory meeting of the second World Forum for Muslim Democrats (WFMD) held at One World Hotel in Bandar Utama here, today.

According to Rahimah, WFMD was the brainchild of Anwar. It serves as a platform for Muslims around the world to discuss current issues concerning Islam.

Executive director of the Institute for Policy Research (IKD) Khalid Jaafar, who was also present during the meeting, said that among the topics that would be discussed during this year's forum were Islamophobia, terrorism, Muslim refugees as well as Muslim minorities living in non-Muslim countries.

Khalid said the upcoming forum would also be used as a platform for them to find a solution on the current Rohingya crisis.

"We will also be discussing about other refugees, too, such as those affected by sectarian wars as well as the political crisis in the Middle East.

The WFMD was held last year for the first time in Malaysia and saw the participation of about 300 delegates from several countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Turkey.
