Zulkifli Noordin Candidacy Backfires on BN

Think tank Political Studies for Change (KPRU) sees Zulkifli Noordin's candicacy for the Parliamentary seat in Shah Alam as a support by Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno towards extremism and contradictory to the '1Malaysia' concept so widely campaigned by the President of BN Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

As it is well known, Zulkifli Noordin was once before being fired by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (KEADILAN) in 2010 as an elected representative under KEADILAN. It was during his tenure under KEADILAN, he began to display his racial attitude.

Before he started to show his racial attitute, in an interview with an online news portal in 2008, according to him, "I am a Member of Parliament (MB) serving the people, notwithstanding religion, race and background. My Service Center is handled by Malays, Chinese and Indians, even my most hardworking employee is an Indian." His words will be contradicted by his own racial expressions in several video clips as well as his writings in his blog.

His extremist conviction was firstly seen in the same year in an incident involving him crashing a forum by the Bar Council on issues pertaining religious conversions. In that incident, he was reported to have accused that if the Bar Council was to continue with their anti-Islam view, they will have to face him as he will defend and fight for Islam. In the same year, Zulkifli Noordin also accused Islam of being attacked from the left, right, above, below, back and front, notwithstanding from the government& nbsp;and the opposition.

In 2009, his tendencies to rebel against KEADILAN can be vaguely seen. He criticized with KEADILAN MP's of urging the House of Representatives be dissolved by noting that "the representatives of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) should not stoop low of BN and its' representatives should be a better example for the new generation."

Also in 2009, Zulkifli Noordin also voiced out that, "it is his personal jihad to defend the rights of Muslims untuk profess and practice Islam. He will continue doing so until his last breath...Muslims only want their lives back."

In 2010, his tendencies to state racial statements and extreme began to shine with his words, "...some atheist are the ones causing the big problems that we face today. It is a sick mentality and attitude that we need to address."

In the same year, before he was fired, Zulkifli Noordin took the opportunity to criticize Khalid Samad whom was at that time the Member of Parliament for Shah Alam as according to Khalid Samad, the Non-Islamic Religious Enactment (Control of Propagation Amongst Muslims) 1988 was outdated. And according to Zulkifli Noordin, Khalid Samad's statement was "a insult to Islam and the Islamic institutions within this country, particularly in the state of Selangor". Post his swipe at Khalid Samad, he decided to lodge a poli ce report against Khalid Samad for allegedly insulting Islam.

In a video clip from eight years ago which was only released in March 2013, Zulkifli Noordin took the opportunity to insult the Indians by questioning the sanctity of the Ganges River. According to him in that clip, "I have gone to the Ganges River. How can it be holy? There are chicken carcasses and twigs floating on the river." In the same video, Zulkifli Noordin also took the opportunity to say the following on the purchases of broken Hindu deities, "Many Indians were rushing to buy elephant&n bsp;deities, even though one of it was had a broken trunk...I asked the vendor why would they buy the deity, the vendor replied, 'I never thought to fix the broken trunk.". He then continued in the same video by saying, "the Indians know it is dumb (referring to the act of fixing the broken trunk).

Also to be noted are his words in the same video, in which he dubbed the Indians and Chinese as illegal immigrants that was brought in by the British during the colonial period. According to him, they were only made citizens of this country in accordance to the Social Contract made between the Chinese, Indians and the Malays.

After the said video was released, surfaced another video which showed Zulkifli Noordin spewing the following words, "There were these Baghdad folks that believed, what keling carrying his Hindu holy book, I saw and I have proof. This keling brought the holy book and swore on it that he was believed." Or in the original words, "Ada badigol Baghdad ni percaya, entah keling mana bawa kitab Hindu dia, 'saya ada tengok, saya ada bukti'. Keling ni bawa kitab Hindu sumpah, dia percaya".

Zulkifli Noordin was finally fired in 2010 as his actions no longer reflected the principles of a KEADILAN member and instead it mirrored as if he was an UMNO member. This and combined with the police report he made against Khalid Samad and his unwarranted actions at the Bar Council became grounds of him no longer having reasons to hide his extremist tendencies.

All of this does not yet include his blog entry titled, "DAP Still Chauvinistic, Racist and Extremist!" dated 17th December 2012 in which in that entry, he accused of the political party Democratic Action Party (DAP) as wanting Lim Kit Siang , Lim Guan Eng and Karpal Singh as the front-liners in the opposition as according to Zulkifli Noordin, this was to allow the hudud, qisas and ta'zir that you dreamed to be fought and stopped!". Also in the same entry, Zulkifli Noordin also accused of Lim Kit Siang as being one of the masterminds behind the 13th May 1969 tragedy.

Hence, KPRU believes that Zulkifli Noordin's candidacy will backfire on UMNO as Malaysians whom are technology wise have seen his habits in the internet and the video clips see him as an extremist which is unqualified to gain any votes from any race in this country.

He does not reflect the peace loving attitude of the people and his candidacy reflects Najib as a political leader that isolates the Indians and the Chinese as well as encourages the extremist behaviour in a country in which the people actually reject such behaviour. His candidacy will however be a positive nudge for the opposition and in turn bring a loss to the BN and not PAKATAN.

Barisan National Ignorant and Arrogant in the Statelessness Issue

BARISAN NATIONAL IGNORANT AND ARROGANT IN THE STATELESSNESS ISSUE

The statement by Normala Abdul Samad (22 April 2013), Barisan National's candidate in the Pasir Gudang parliamentary constituency telling Malaysian Indians to be patient with the government in solving the longstanding issue of stateless Indians, is an absolute insult to the Indian community.

Her statement linking the statelessness issue to the Sabah IC conundrum, is ignorance at the highest level, and is akin to considering the stateless Indians non Malaysians.

The Indians in Malaysia have been here since before Merdeka. We are now seeing the 4th and 5th generations of Malaysian born Indians. It is an irrefutable fact that we are a part of the growth and success of this nation.

The Pakatan Rakyat State Government of Selangor (SSG) and the Pakatan leaders have voiced our serious concerns on the statelessness issue. In September of 2012 the Selangor State Government submitted more than 800 applications from stateless Indians. The response from the Registration Department was ineffective in addressing the issue.

Furthermore, the recent publicity stunt of the acting Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib Razak who awarded 120 blue IC's to people, is proof that the BN government knows that there is a problem, but refuses to expedite the solution.

Pakatan Rakyat is adamant that there are about 200,000 stateless citizens in Malaysia. We strongly feel that they are bona fide citizens of Malaysia with equal rights. Our political will to solve this problem within the first 100-days can be found in the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto.

The Unanswered Questions

Posted: 23 Apr 2013 08:50 PM PDT

GIVE US THE MANDATE: WE WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

A number of issues have plagued the nation, but the answers are still not
forthcoming.

From Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani's sudden death, to that of custodial
deaths involving among others, C.Sugumar, who is the most recent victim on
Jan 23, and from the confession by the late PI Bala to the shocking murder of
Mongolian model, Altantuya Shariibuu and the Scorpene submarines, the
questions have been asked, but the answers are vague.

This has driven Subang parliamentary incumbent, Sivarasa to urge the
people not only to vote the Pakatan Rakyat representatives, but to ensure a
new government is formed at both the Federal and State level.

"Only when we are able to take over Putrajaya, I can assure you that these
questions that you are all asking will not be answered by the present regime
under UMNO Barisan Nasional," he said. "As members of parliament and
citizens of this country, we, too are interested to know what happened to
Altantuya and how two personal bodyguards could be involved in the death of
the Mongolian model."

Sivarasa said at the present moment, the Scorpene case is still ongoing. "We
have some latest information, which we will soon expose to the nation," he
said. "We will have to ask our caretaker prime minister Najib Tun Razak to
answer some tough questions."

Until Pakatan Rakyat government is able to take over Putrajaya, Sivarasa
said it would be difficult to force UMNO and Barisan Nasional, especially
Najib, to be held accountable to the people.

"The time is now," he said. "Ini kalilah! Please come out in full force to
vote."

In a recent development, Malaysiakini reported that the Bar Council has
referred senior lawyer, Cecil Abraham to the Advocates and Solicitors
Disciplinary Board for his alleged role in the second statutory declaration
of P. Balasubramaniam in 2008.

"It is learnt that it was Najib who asked Cecil to draft the SD2," said
Sivarasa. "However, the powers are not on the Bar Council to query the
caretaker prime minister, but when Pakatan Rakyat takes over Putrajaya, this
case would have to be re-opened because of the amount of public interest it
has generated."

Laporan Polis Terhadap Salahlaku Dato Seri Ir Mohd Zin

Posted: 23 Apr 2013 03:58 AM PDT

Sivarasa dedah calon BN Sepang terlibat jenayah wang haram

"Selepas didapati bersalah, mahkamah menjatuhkan hukuman penjara tujuh tahun.

Hadir sama sidang media, Tahir Fazal.

Mat Taib, Tamrin Gesa 61 Ahli Umno Yang dipecat Sokong Pakatan

Posted: 23 Apr 2013 01:45 AM PDT

The Malaysian Insider

A Pakatan Johor better for business, says Anwar

Posted: 22 Apr 2013 11:39 PM PDT

Malaysiakini

Responding to remarks from the Barisan Nasional (BN) camp that the opposition will stymie the progress of the Iskandar region if Johor falls into opposition hands, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim yesterday dismissed these as scaremongering attempts and reiterated that the opposition wants the Malaysian economy to continue to grow and commitments would be honoured.

However, he said “investors, including (those) from Singapore, cannot assume that business must be as usual” should the special economic zone come under opposition rule.

Among other things, he wants more opportunities for Malaysians.

Speaking to Today while campaigning in Selangor, Anwar said: “The politics of fear is always a tactic of the ruling establishment. Of course, our concern is that the economy continues to grow (and) whatever commitments were given have to be honoured.”

Nevertheless, should the opposition win Johor, there will be changes in policies. Anwar said businesses in Iskandar will have to be “more transparent” and the opposition will “generate interest and participation (in the commercial projects) for the locals”.

“These are issues which will not in any way hinder investment or development,” he said.

Iskandar Malaysia was developed in 2006, and Singapore is the largest single foreign investor there.

According to statistics from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), Singapore companies have set up more than 300 manufacturing projects there so far.

Some Singapore companies have reportedly said that they will adopt a wait-and-see attitude in investing in the Iskandar region, with the elections underway.

Johor is known as a BN fortress. Going into the elections, the ruling coalition held 25 out of 26 parliamentary seats, and 50 out of 56 state seats.

But political analysts have said that the opposition could make deeper inroads given the political developments since the last general election in 2008.

In recent weeks, UDA Holdings chairperson Nur Jazlan Mohamed and MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek have warned Johorians that investments worth billions of ringgit received by the Iskandar region and Johor would be stopped if the opposition is voted in.

UDA Holdings is a public listed company that started off as the Urban Development Authority (UDA).

The BN is fielding 50 per cent new faces at state level and 30 per cent new candidates at federal level.

But Anwar pointed out that several of the so-called new faces had contested in the 1980s and 1990s. He also criticised the ruling coalition for fielding those “clearly known to be extremist in their views”, citing Zulkifli Noordin, who had made derogatory remarks about Hindus.

Anwar also charged that the BN's main component party Umno is playing the race card in the elections.

He noted Umno's campaign leaflets which stated that should the opposition win the majority in Parliament, Islam will no longer be the official religion, the royalty will be abolished and all bumiputera agencies will be abolished.

“But I don't believe that the voters are that gullible… they are aware of the tactics,” he said.

Anwar also downplayed suggestions that there was a rift within the opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat. In seven constituencies, his party and PAS have put up candidates against each other. But he said the clashes had been resolved “amicably”.

Yesterday, Anwar spoke at rallies in rural areas to drum up support for the opposition coalition. Selangor is currently helmed by the opposition and the state seats held by the BN are mainly in the rural areas.

Najib also hit the campaign trail in Selangor yesterday, including holding a walkabout in the Kota Raja constituency. Adding that it was crucial for the BN to recapture Selangor — one of Malaysia's commercial hubs — Najib told the people that their future is with the ruling coalition.

He also guaranteed that Selangor will never experience water supply interruptions again. He accused Pakatan of putting the takeover of water concessionaires as its main focus.

According to The Star, he also told voters that the Pakatan partnership “won't last”.

“They are even contesting against each other in seven constituencies,” said Najib.

[PRESS STATEMENT] Overlapping seats between PAS and KEADILAN resolved

Posted: 22 Apr 2013 10:10 PM PDT

APRIL 23rd 2013

OVERLAPPING SEATS BETWEEN PAS AND KEADILAN RESOLVED

The past two weeks have seen the unrelenting assault by the UMNO/BN machinery and media in their attempts to drive a wedge among the Pakatan Rakyat parties and to give the impression that the coalition is in disarray. Nothing can be further from the truth. Once again, as can be seen by the massive turn out of Pakatan supporters and the people in our ceramahs, we have proven them wrong.

The renewed psywar and dirty tactics campaign began with their circulation of yet another sex video to humiliate Pakatan leaders followed by the use of the Registrar of Societies to precipitate a crisis in DAP regarding the party's legitimacy and casting grave doubt over the authority of the Central Executive Committee at the eleventh hour. Since nomination day, their media have also gone to town about the supposed split between PAS and PKR over a few overlapping seats. The suggestion that this is 'a time bomb waiting to explode' is sheer nonsense.

In the spirit of solidarity and compromise that holds together Pakatan Rakyat, the leaders of PAS and KEADILAN met over the weekend to discuss the seven overlapping seats – one parliament and seven state seats or 0.5% of parliament seats and 1.1% of state seats. We have resolved this miscommunication that had resulted in some confusion over who was to contest which seat.

As we now stand, KEADILAN has conceded some seats and PAS has done likewise. Of the seven overlapping seats in contention, PAS will keep the three Terengganu state seats of Bukit Besi, Seberang Takir and Kota Putera. Keadilan will field our candidates in the parliamentary seat of Labuan, and the state seats of Sungai Acheh in Pulau Pinang and Panti in Johor.

The state seat of Kota Damansara in Selangor, which will be contested by PSM under the Keadilan logo, is still being discussed, as this was a seat allocation decided by Pakatan Rakyat. I am confident we will be able to resolve this very soon.

Although the Election Commission might not permit us to withdraw the candidates already fielded and print either the PAS or KEADILAN logos on the ballot paper, KEADILAN President, Dr Wan Azizah has issued letters revoking the watikah (authorization letters) of our candidates for three seats we have conceded to PAS.

We do not mind the publicity that is given by the alternative media critical as it may be but we condemn the utterly warped reports by the UMNO-BN media that continue to spin lies and fabrications in their attempt to paint Pakatan in a bad light. Furthermore, their persistent resort to libel and slander in the name of press freedom cannot be accepted or tolerated by any right minded citizen. That they are doing this with impunity speaks volumes about the state of rule of law and due process under UMNO-BN.

For the next ten days ahead, we urge voters, supporters and Pakatan Rakyat local party machineries to double their efforts to bring to fruition our goal to win Putrajaya. Insyallah, with the rakyat’s support, we can and we will.

Hospital, Pencemaran Toksik, Perumahan Terbengkalai antara isu di Parlimen Rembau

Posted: 22 Apr 2013 06:56 PM PDT

2. Tanah adat kerajaan bayar RM1.20 sekaki, tanah untuk hospital Rembau RM22.00 sekaki

Tanah Hospital Rembau ditawarkan pada harga RM22 sekaki (RM958,320 seekar)

3. Hospital Rembau dijangka siap selepas 3 tahun tender ditutup

****

Terdapat beberapa utama mengenai tapak hospital Rembau.

9. Bau busuk ganggu penduduk

Sinar Harian 12 Julai 2012, Pedas - Penduduk di Kg Merbau Sembilan, dekat sini mendakwa sebuah kilang memproses ayam yang beroperasi sejak enam tahun lalu membawa pelbagai masalah khususnya dari segi pencemaran bau yang turut menjejaskan kesihatan mereka.

10. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pedas
