“Kenapa ia dilihat populis?

“Awak semua perlu membaca novel berkenaan.

PKR Sabah Secretary – Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen  with PKR members and volunteers took initiatives to organize a gotong royong in filling severely damaged roads with gravel stones in Kg Air Ganang, Kapayan. The residents have been applying to authorities over the last 5 years to solve the damaged kampong roads – but it all fell into deaf ears.

Upon receiving complaints from the kampong folks , Dr Roland Chia decided to raise funds from members and volunteers to organize a gotong royong. Dr Roland Chia says  the government is too pre-occupied in implementing mega projects and transformation programmes and has overlooked the plight of the poor and the needy in basic infrastructures in the form of kampong roads.

Villagers of Kg Air Ganang, Kapayan are grateful to Dr Roland Chia & team for his selfless contribution to the community of Kg Air Ganang, Kapayan.

Media Statement - Pensioners’ Money in EPF & KWAP is lost as a result of poor advice of BN Government – PKR SABAH.

The  board of directors of the two national pension funds namely -  the Employee's Provident Fund (EPF) and Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) must be answerable to the paper loss which they  collectively suffered at  RM75 million as a result of buying Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGV) shares. PKR Sabah Secretary cum National Supreme Council member– Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen mentioned today in a press statement.

This is because the pension funds had bought the shares despite market analysts generally recommending against the stock since Aug 9 last year. Since the listing of FGV- collectively  EPF had since bought 46 million shares while KWAP bought 10 million, bringing the total shares to 275 million and 253 million respectively. The buying behaviour of EPF and KWAP are extremely unprofessional and seemingly unbecoming of a pension fund,"

If the analysts' predictions are correct, Dr Roland Chia warned that EPF's losses could worsen from RM40 million to RM146 million in 12 months, while KWAP's would worsen from RM35 million to RM129 million over the same period. This is based on data compiled by finance data provider, Bloomberg, he said, which found that 21 analysts believe that on average, FGV stock prices would drop from RM4.60 to RM4.19 over the next 12 months.

He also singled out one analyst, Alliance Research Sdn Bhd for having one of the worst 12-month target price at RM3.53 per share. This would mean a paper loss of about RM327 million for EPF and RM295 for KWAP.  "So who are these fund managers that EPF and KWAP listening to? If they are listening to market analysts who are trained to do this kind of research, surely they won't buy, but they have bought instead! Why? I believe is too much political interference by the BN government.

Dr Roland Chia demanded EPF and KWAP to answer whether it had received any instruction from politicians to prop up FGV share prices. During its IPO in June last year, EPF was allotted 185 million FGV shares while KWAP was allotted 194 million.  EPF has since bought another 90 million shares in total for RM455 million, while KWAP bought 59 million shares for RM305 million, according to Dr Roland Chia.

This paper loss does not augur well with the pensioners'  at all in the midst of rising escalating cost of living. It is very brutal of the BN government in robbing these pensioners of their life time savings by forcing EPF and KWAP to snap up FGV shares. Dr Roland Chia lamented.

PKR SABAH represented by Chairman Ahmad Thamrin Jaini n Secretary Dr Roland Chia attended the national Perhimpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat in Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur.
